In order to get your Teaching Assistant license in NYS you will need to have:
Education - High School Diploma or GED
A copy of your High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE), OR
An official High School or College transcript (High School Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's, etc.)

Fingerprint Clearance
Once you have all of your documents, you can apply to get your Teaching Assistant license here.
In order to get your NYS Teaching License you must:
Have a bachelor's degree from a New York State accredited teacher preparation program
Pass all NYS Teaching License exams:
the Educating All Students (EAS) exam;
the edTPA; and
the Content Specialty Test(s) in their area of certification
Have fingerprint clearance to complete a background check by the state
Once you have met all three requirements, you will fill out a teaching license application through New York State Department of Education website here.
New York State will then review all of your documents, and grant you your teaching license!
